The University Board has 2010-12-17 decided that the ECTS scale will no longer be used for translation of the grades (ie, according to the decisions in these pages).

There are transitional provisions valid in 2011 for courses that regulates ECTS complementation in the course syllabus.

The function and method of translating between different grading systems is general and not only applicable according LU's old rules and thus can be interesting to keep, even if it is not used for grading at Lund University any longer.

Mapping of local grades in the ECTS-scale

This page include a method to systematically map local grades in the ECTS-scale. The method used is described in "Documentation".

Enter the NUMBER of students given each of the current grades
-the worst grade to the left and the best grade to the right
-fill in from the left and use the number of columns corresponding
   to the number of grades

Enter the long term distribution SHARE of grades (integer percent)
  -the sum should be 100
-in best case the short term grades (as entered above) is
   integrated in the distribution
-please use "Historical grades" to retrieve the long term
distribution on courses given at Lund University
